I do nearly all of my sharpening by hand using only files, stones and leather strops. This approach gives me great control and precision and the flexibility to adapt to each individual piece. The only exceptions are particularly damaged lawnmower blades. For those, I’ll rough cut the new edge with an angle grinder and then refine by hand.
If you have a tool that’s not listed here, feel free to email me at: tim@timkierstead.com. I do all correspondence through written word. Pricing for repairs of damaged edges will be quoted on an individual basis.
Note: All pricing assumes normal wear. Chipping, etc will increase the cost as it constitutes repair as opposed to maintenance.
